One week hiking and sightseeing tour in two of the most spectacular mountains in the Carpathians: Retezat Mountains and Făgăraș Mountains!

Southern Carpathians, Transylvania, Retezat Mountains and Fagăraș Mountains.
Highlights:
Day 1: Drive from Cluj Napoca to Cârnic (at the base of Retezat Mountains). On the road on request we can stop to admire Corvin Castle one of the most spectacular castles in Europe and Densuș church, an impresive monument of more than 1000 years old. Once we arrive in Cârnic we will make the check in at the guest house and we will make a moderate hike in Retezat National Park, the first national park in Romania and considered to be the queen of the Romanian National Parks.
- Hiking 5-6 hours (600 meters elevation)
- Difficulty: moderate (red)
- Accommodation in Cârnic
Day 2: Long and spectacular hike on the roof of Retezat Mountains, Peleaga Mountain top (2509 meters).
- Hiking 10 hours (1500 meters elevation)
- Difficulty: intense
- Accommodation in Cârnic or at Bucura Lake (Camping).
- On request we can take the tents and we can spend the night on the top of the mountains, near Bucura Lake (the biggest glacier lake in Romania) in order to have an easier day and a true outdoor experience.
Day 3: Hike on Retezat Mountain top OR Galeșu Lake and Valea Rea (The Bad Valley).
- Hiking 8 hours (1000 meters elevation)
- Difficulty: moderate towards intense
- Accommodation in Cârnic.
- On request we can take the tents and we can spend the night on the top of the mountains, near Bucura Lake (the biggest glacier lake in Romania) in order to have an easier day and a true outdoor experience.
Day 4: Transfer from Retezat Mountains to Făgăraș Mountains and driving to Bâlea Lake on Transfăgărășan road, one of the most amazing roads in the world! Once we arrive we will make an easy hike to Capra Lake.
- Hiking 4 hours (600 meters elevation)
- Difficulty: moderate
- Accommodation at Bâlea
Day 5: Long, spectacular hike to Călțun Lake and Negoiu Peak (the second mountain top in Romania 2535 meters).
- Hiking 9-10 hours (1200 meters elevation)
- Difficulty: intense
- Accommodation at Bâlea
Day 6: Returning home
Transportation: We will leave from Cluj-Napoca, and return to the city by private car or minibus (depending on the size of the group)
Recommended group size: 1 to 7 people
Difficulty: These program is recommended for persons with good fitness condition and hiking experience
Flexibility: The tour is flexible and can be altered on the spot, depending on the group request, number of days available, weather condition, and your physical training.
